Softball Recap: North Buncombe Takes a Loss

If North Buncombe was riding high fresh off their 9-2 takedown of Mountain Heritage on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. North Buncombe fell 5-2 to the Enka Jets on Tuesday. The Black Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

North Buncombe now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Enka, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

North Buncombe and Enka should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. North Buncombe will square off against Asheville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday up 210 places (182 vs. 392). Meanwhile, Enka (ranked 14th) will meet Smoky Mountain (ranked 305th) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
