Saxony Lutheran extends road winning streak to six

The Saxony Lutheran Crusaders had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came out on top against Dexter by a score of 58-49. For Saxony Lutheran, this counts as revenge for the 47-46 defeat Dexter walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.

Leading Saxony Lutheran to victory were Evie Caruso and Rebecca Johnson. Caruso scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three blocks, while Johnson scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Caruso is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. Maci Hollis was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Saxony Lutheran pushed their record up to 13-5 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Dexter, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saxony Lutheran will take on Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dexter, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sikeston at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Sikeston is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
