Softball Recap: West Marion Takes a Loss

West Marion entered their match against St. Patrick on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Trojans fell just short of the Fighting Irish by a score of 7-5. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 12, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Griffyn Harmon stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Gracie Odom, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

West Marion's loss dropped their record down to 17-2. As for St. Patrick, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

West Marion will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Pearl River Central at 12:30 p.m. As for St. Patrick, they will head out on the road to square off against Tylertown at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
