Volleyball Recap: Middle Creek Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Middle Creek was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Fuquay - Varina last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell just short of the Apex Friendship Patriots by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Middle Creek started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 12-25, 25-16, 25-23, 15-12.

Despite the defeat, Middle Creek saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cameron Gerber had 31 digs and four assists. Those 31 digs set a new season-high mark for Gerber. Another player making a difference was Addison Davis, who had 11 digs.

Shelby Fuller had a dynamite game For Apex Friendship., getting 30 digs and four aces.

Middle Creek's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Apex Friendship, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

When Middle Creek and Apex Friendship next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Mustangs will face off against Apex and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Apex Friendship will try to stop Green Hope's four-game winning streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
