Basketball Recap: Elba Comes Up Short

Elba was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Franklin Flyers and fell 62-35. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bluejays of the 55-18 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Elba still got an impressive performance from Blake Barg, who posted 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. What's more, Barg also posted a 35% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January of 2024. Kjell Brockhoff was another key player, putting up two points and eight boards.

Elba's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Franklin, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-16.

Elba does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Franklin, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-26 defeat against Axtell on the 15th.
