Baseball Recap: Raymond Central Takes a Loss

If Raymond Central was riding high fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Louisville on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Calhoun Pioneers on Saturday. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Raymond Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Sykes, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Raymond Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Fort Calhoun, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Raymond Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-0 win against Arlington on the 19th. As for Fort Calhoun, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-0 loss against Douglas County West on the 19th.
