Baseball Game Preview: Wauconda Bulldogs vs. Sycamore Spartans

The Wauconda Bulldogs will challenge the Sycamore Spartans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Wauconda is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Wauconda needed a bit of extra time to put away Woodstock North. They had just enough and edged out the Thunder 8-7. The win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Ryan Fostiak was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Wauconda is 10-4 when Fostiak posts two or more runs, but 7-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Koehler, who went 1-for-5 with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Sycamore was able to grind out a solid victory over Dixon on Thursday, taking the game 6-3. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Dukes & Duchesses recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Wauconda's victory bumped their record up to 17-14. As for Sycamore, their win bumped their record up to an identical 17-14.
