Recap: Barnwell Warhorses vs. Woodland Wolverines

The Barnwell Warhorses had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They managed a 31-27 victory over Woodland. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Barnwell also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.

Cameron Austin had a dynamite game for Barnwell, rushing for 145 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 174 yards and a touchdown. Austin is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Jaquan Peeples also helped out with an impressive 80 receiving yards.

Barnwell's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.8 points per game. As for Woodland, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-2.

Barnwell will take on Hampton County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hampton County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Barnwell likes a good challenge. As for Woodland, they will head out on the road to face off against Edisto at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Edisto is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
