Basketball Game Preview: Spartanburg Christian Academy Warriors vs. Landrum Cardinals

Spartanburg Christian Academy and Landrum are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. Both will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Spartanburg Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

If Landrum heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Spartanburg Christian Academy took over last week. Spartanburg Christian Academy walked away with a 49-39 win over Chesnee on Thursday.

It was another big night for Delaney Caldwell, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten boards. That makes it nine consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Spartanburg Christian Academy's points.

Meanwhile, Landrum didn't have quite enough to beat Broome last Monday and fell 46-43. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Spartanburg Christian Academy will have to keep a close watch on Kylie Fortner and Hazel Cain, a pair of players who had a big impact on Landrum's prior game. Fortner posted 22 points, while Cain put up nine points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals. Landrum is 3-1 when Cain posts five or more steals, but 1-4 otherwise.

Spartanburg Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Landrum, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Spartanburg Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Landrum in their previous meeting back in December of 2018, but they still walked away with a 62-57 win.
