Softball Game Preview: Central Magnet vs. The Webb School Feet

Central Magnet will face off against The Webb School Feet at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row dating back to last season, Central Magnet turned things around against Harpeth Hall on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Honeybears as they made off with a 15-3 victory. Central Magnet not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11, 2024.

Central Magnet got a great performance from Rachel Plondke as she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave Plondke a new career-high.

At the plate, Megan Weber was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Nickerson, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, The Webb School had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on University School of Nashville with a sharp 17-4 win.
