Basketball Recap: Rickover Naval Seadragons vs. Lake View Wildcats
After flying high against Von Steuben last Friday, Rickover Naval came back down to earth. The Rickover Naval Seadragons took a 38-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake View Wildcats on Tuesday. The Seadragons were probably out for revenge after losing 48-41 to them when the teams met back in January of 2015, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Several Seadragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samantha Booth, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Edwards, who scored seven points.
Lake View had a senior duo take command as Jada Marrero had 11 points and Mina Dominguez put up ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for Dominguez.
Rickover Naval has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Lake View, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-6.
Rickover Naval wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 48-33 win against Chicago Mathematics & Science on the 29th. Lake View has also already played their next contest, a 32-28 defeat against North Lawndale on the 29th.
