Preview: M.L. King Lions vs. Troup County Tigers
The M.L. King Lions are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Troup County Tigers at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Wednesday, M.L. King came up short against Seckinger and fell 66-58.
Loss or not, M.L. King got some senior leadership from Kennedy Ruzvidzo jr. who scored 22 points along with five assists and Quamon Ellison who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. The contest was Ruzvidzo jr.'s seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaleon Johnson, who scored four points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Troup County beat Manchester 62-52 on Wednesday. The victory was just what Troup County needed coming off of a 81-55 defeat in their prior matchup.
M.L. King's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2. As for Troup County, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
M.L. King suffered a grim 66-40 defeat to Troup County in their previous matchup back in December of 2017. Can M.L. King avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
