Baseball Recap: Northgate Comes Up Short

Northgate fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Las Lomas on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. That makes it the first time this season the Broncos have let down their home crowd.

Max Carlos was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Northgate saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Dress, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Northgate's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Las Lomas, the win got them back to even at 6-6-1.

While Northgate had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
