Volleyball Recap: Dell Rapids Falls Short Against Ranked Dakota Valley + How To Watch

Dell Rapids faced Dakota Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Quarriers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Saturday.

Dell Rapids wouldn't go down easily and took Dakota Valley into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-22, 15-6.

Madelynn Henry paced Dell Rapids' offense, picking up 34 kills. Henry got some help from Tenley Anderson and her 46 assists. Elin Schoenhard controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Dell Rapids suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 19-5. As for Dakota Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

Dell Rapids didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Vermillion on the 7th. As for Dakota Valley, they will square off against Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
