Baseball Recap: Mica Mountain Comes Up Short

Mica Mountain fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions by a score of 4-3. The Thunderbolts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Mica Mountain saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Higuera, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Raydon Rocha also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Mica Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, their record now sits at 2-3.

Coming up, Mica Mountain will square off against ALA - Queen Creek at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. ALA - Queen Creek will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Mica Mountain surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they will challenge Seton Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seton Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.3 runs per game this season.
