Softball Recap: De Pere Gets the Win

The De Pere Redbirds beat the Eau Claire North Huskies 8-3 on Saturday.

Reese Falish spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Julianne Bradford and Addison Krutz did most of the damage at the plate: Bradford scored two runs and stole four bases, while Krutz went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave Bradford a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Krepline, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

De Pere now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Eau Claire North, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, De Pere will head out to face off against Sheboygan North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eau Claire North, they will square off against Chippewa Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Huskies' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
