Baseball Recap: Delhi Takes a Loss

Delhi lost against Gustine on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Delhi Hawks lost 9-3 to the Gustine Reds. That's two games in a row now that the Hawks have lost by exactly six runs.

Isac Vargas was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Edgar Gonzalez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Delhi has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. The win (which was Gustine's sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Delhi will head out to face off against Mariposa County at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gustine, they are taking a road trip to square off against Waterford at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
