Volleyball Game Preview: South County Stallions vs. West Potomac Wolverines

South County has gone a perfect 3-0 against West Potomac recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Stallions will welcome the Wolverines at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South County is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Fairfax, who was ranked 17th at the time (South County was ranked 21st). The Stallions came out on top against the Lions by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.

While South County might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Fairfax scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 29-27, 26-24.

South County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ritesh Pokharel led the charge by getting six digs, three aces, and one block. Pokharel is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season. Adrien Ly was another key player, getting 12 digs and three assists.

Meanwhile, West Potomac got the win against Woodson on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The Wolverines have beaten the Cavaliers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cavaliers has come to flipping the script.

South County's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for West Potomac, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.

South County beat West Potomac 3-1 when the teams last played back in September. Will the Stallions repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
