Mount View dropped down to 5-5 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Bucksport Golden Bucks by a score of 2-0. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bucks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Mount View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaden Bradeen, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Bradeen is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

As for Bucksport, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

On Bucksport's side, Trent Goss made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Goss was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Mount View will challenge Maranacook at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Black Bears' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bucksport, they will head out on the road to challenge Washington Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
