Baseball Recap: Coopersville Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Coopersville won against Sparta last Monday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Broncos walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Spartans. The win was nothing new for the Broncos as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Zach Velzen, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

Coopersville's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0-1. As for Sparta, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coopersville will challenge Lowell at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Arrows have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season. As for Sparta, they will take on Grant in a tournament on Saturday.
