Basketball Recap: Lake Travis Comes Up Short

After flying high against Dripping Springs last Friday, Lake Travis came back down to earth. The Lake Travis Cavaliers had to suffer through a 56-28 loss at the hands of the Westlake Chaparrals. The loss continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Chaparrals: they've now lost four in a row.

Lake Travis' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-12. As for Westlake, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season.

Lake Travis and Westlake should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Lake Travis will challenge Akins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 944 places (145 vs. 1089). Lake Travis is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Similarly, Westlake (ranked 40th) will meet Del Valle (ranked 736th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
