Basketball Preview: Tattnall Square Academy Trojans vs. First Presbyterian Day Vikings
The Tattnall Square Academy Trojans and the First Presbyterian Day Vikings will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tattnall Square Academy has three straight wins, the Vikings have five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Tattnall Square Academy can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 75-38 victory over Georgia Military College. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-18.
Tattnall Square Academy found their leader in underclassman Whit Davidson, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Antone Johnson, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, First Presbyterian Day pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-62 to Rock Springs Christian Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (60), First Presbyterian Day still had to take the loss.
Tattnall Square Academy's victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for First Presbyterian Day, they dropped their record down to 5-16 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Tattnall Square Academy against the Vikings when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 78-48 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was First Presbyterian Day's Chris Davis, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Tattnall Square Academy still be able to contain Davis? There's only one way to find out.
