Volleyball Recap: Sartell-St. Stephen Has No Trouble Against Elk River

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sartell-St. Stephen walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Elk River Elks on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sabres.

While Sartell-St. Stephen won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-14.

Olivia Terhune paced Sartell-St. Stephen's offense, picking up 11 kills. Terhune got some help from Kate Thompson and her 30 assists. Thompson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Sartell-St. Stephen's victory bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Elk River, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-21.

Looking ahead, Sartell-St. Stephen will face off against St. Michael-Albertville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elk River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
