Basketball Recap: Swanville Comes Up Short

Swanville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to the Braham Bombers at home by a 80-66 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 69-63 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Tyler Eklund continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Braham, dropping a double-double with 47 points and 11 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Eklund has scored at least a third of Braham's points. Another player making a difference was Soren Lilly, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Swanville now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Braham, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Swanville will welcome Long Prairie-Grey Eagle at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Braham, they will be playing at home against Hinckley-Finlayson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Braham is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 80.2 points per game this season.
