Hughson has won four straight games at home, while More has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Huskies will host the Knights at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Hughson got the win against Sonora by a conclusive 15-2. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Benji Ocegueda made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Hughson got a massive performance out of Beau Blake, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Andrew Fisher was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Hughson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .516 or higher in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, More made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hill on Friday. The Knights blew past the Falcons 10-2. Considering the Knights' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Like Hughson, More also got a great game from a two-way player: Anthony Selway. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Selway has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Sean Selway and Jason Schaper did most of the damage at the plate: Sean scored two runs while going 4-for-4, while Schaper scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Schaper also put up two RBI, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Zep Cortese, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.
More's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Hughson, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
More's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hughson hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .383. It's a different story for More, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Hughson's hitters?
Hughson came out on top in a nail-biter against More when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
