The matchup between Gilmer and Spring Hill on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. Everything went the Gilmer Buckeyes' way against the Spring Hill Panthers as the Gilmer Buckeyes made off with a 16-4 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Buckeyes, who have now won six games in a row.

Gilmer pushed their record up to 11-2-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Spring Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilmer will host Harmony at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Spring Hill, they will be playing at home against Carthage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Hill has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
