Recap: First Presbyterian Day Vikings vs. John Milledge Academy Trojans

If The First Presbyterian Day Vikings were feeling good off their 30-6 takedown of the Mount de Sales Academy Cavaliers two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. First Presbyterian Day took a 27-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of John Milledge Academy. First Presbyterian Day lost against John Milledge Academy in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 56-7 score last time.

First Presbyterian Day's lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jakhari Williams, who threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Spillers, who picked up 170 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Javian Butts continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for John Milledge Academy, rushing for 142 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 35 receiving yards. Butts is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kolt McMichael, who threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

First Presbyterian Day's loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for John Milledge Academy, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Presbyterian Day will face off against Tattnall Square Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tattnall Square Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 122 points over their last three matches. As for John Milledge Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Mount de Sales Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Mount de Sales Academy: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while John Milledge Academy has snatched up eight consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
