Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Walnut Grove's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Walnut Grove on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 74-48 margin over the Greenville Lions. With the Wildcats ahead 42-22 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Walnut Grove found their leader in freshman Monta Ellis, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Evanson, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 12 points.

Walnut Grove has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-9 record this season. As for Greenville, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 14-19.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats duke it out with the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Walnut Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Tyler likes a good challenge. Greenville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
