Basketball Game Preview: Millwood Bobcats vs. Williamsburg Christian Academy Eagles

The Millwood Bobcats will square off against the Williamsburg Christian Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Millwood was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-34 to Amelia Academy.

Millwood's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Hazeem Karim, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards, and Griffin Aktalay, who posted 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. James McRae was another key player, putting up four points and eight boards.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Williamsburg Christian Academy and Denbigh Baptist Christian, and Denbigh Baptist Christian kept the tradition alive. The Eagles were beaten by the Minutemen 77-30 on Monday. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-22.

Williamsburg Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Millwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Millwood came up short against Williamsburg Christian Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2020, falling 65-55. Thankfully for the Bobcats, Brandon Herman (who shot 42% from the field en route to 20 points in addition to eight assists and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time.
