Baseball Recap: Utica Comes Up Short

Utica couldn't beat Anchor Bay on Monday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the fourth inning. The Chieftains took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tars. The Chieftains haven't had much luck with the Tars recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Utica saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Loose, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another was Jimmy Lasceski, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Utica's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Anchor Bay, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8.

While Utica had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
