Holy Cross falls despite strong effort from Jacob Hand

After a string of six wins, the Holy Cross Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 70-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jeffersontown. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Holy Cross came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Jeffersontown is ranked 127th).

Despite the loss, Holy Cross still got an impressive performance from Jacob Hand, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Hand's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Michael Loftis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Holy Cross' loss dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Jeffersontown, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will face off against Providence at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Jeffersontown, they will head out on the road to face off against Butler at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
