Softball Recap: North Central Victorious

North Central won against Camden on Tuesday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Knights came out on top against the Lugoff-Elgin Demons by a score of 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Mackenzie Melton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, North Central's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was K'Mya Reichard, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Reichard has posted since back in February.

North Central's record is now 12-3. As for Lugoff-Elgin, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-9 record.

Coming up, Lugoff-Elgin will welcome Camden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Central will be paying especially close attention to the Demons' game: after the Demons face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on North Central again at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
