Volleyball Recap: Ferguson Comes Up Short

Ferguson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to the Riviera Prep Bulldogs. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Riviera Prep scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-17, 22-25, 25-17, 25-21.

Elynn Guzman paced Ferguson's offense, picking up 11 kills. Guzman were helped by Camila Gavotti and Samantha Olivia, who contributed ten assists each. Mianah Titus controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Riviera Prep was led to victory by Natalie Chabouk and Hailey Pe?a. Chabouk had four digs, four aces, and one block, while Pe?a had 15 digs and two assists.

Ferguson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Riviera Prep, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Ferguson will face off against Norland at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Riviera Prep, they will challenge Viera at 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
