Baseball Recap: Adrian Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Dundee typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Adrian proved too difficult a challenge. They never let the Vikings get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Maples, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Joelden Griffin, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Dundee off the board. Griffin has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Adrian's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Julius Robichaud, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Tyler Bruggeman was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Adrian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Dundee, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Adrian will host Michigan Center at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.81 runs per game on average), something the Maples will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dundee, they will welcome Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
