Softball Recap: Riverbend's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

While Riverbend put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Massaponax. The Bears didn't even let the Panthers on the board, marking the Bears' second-straight 14-0 shutout. The win was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on five straight.

Jameson Snell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Riverbend got a big performance out of Norah Clark, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Makenzie Thomas was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Riverbend always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Riverbend's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Massaponax, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Riverbend beat the Panthers by a score of 14-0 later that day.
