Baseball Recap: Antonian Prep Takes a Loss

Antonian Prep was the 12-7 winner over TMI-Episcopal when they last played one another on Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Apaches lost 11-4 to the Panthers on Saturday.

Antonian Prep saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emilio Negrete, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Antonian Prep has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-14-1 record this season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 18-5-1 Central Catholic and 17-5-1 Central Catholic (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 58.8% over those games). As for TMI-Episcopal, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Antonian Prep is set to take on their familiar foe Savio at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st. Meanwhile, TMI-Episcopal will square off against rival Central Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
