Football Game Preview: Balmorhea Bears vs. Fort Hancock Mustangs

The Balmorhea Bears will head out to challenge the Fort Hancock Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Balmorhea knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Fort Hancock likes a good challenge.

On Friday, Balmorhea humbled El Paso Leadership Academy East with a 56-22 victory. Fans of the Bears have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fort Hancock, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Sierra Blanca by a score of 30-20 on Friday.

Balmorhea's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Fort Hancock, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Everything came up roses for Balmorhea against Fort Hancock in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-6 win. In that matchup, the Bears amassed a halftime lead of 30-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
