Softball Game Preview: Palmyra Panthers vs. Cape May County Tech Hawks

Palmyra has won three straight games at home, while Cape May County Tech has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Panthers will host the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, Palmyra made easy work of Pennsauken Tech and carried off an 18-1 win.

Meanwhile, Cape May County Tech got the win against LEAP Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 17-2.

Emma Oravits was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Oravits was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Melissa Rivello was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Annabella Culican was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Cape May County Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as LEAP Academy only posted a batting average of .154.

Cape May County Tech's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Palmyra, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
