Softball Recap: Mesa Takes a Loss

Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 18-2 to the Boulder Creek Jaguars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jackrabbits of the 25-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Leah Alcala was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. Brooklyn Isom was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Boulder Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Mesa and Boulder Creek will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Mesa is set to challenge their familiar foe Mountain View at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Boulder Creek will square off against rival O'Connor at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
