A.L. Brown hasn't had much luck against Lake Norman recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wonders are taking a road trip to square off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. A.L. Brown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between A.L. Brown and Carson, and A.L. Brown kept the tradition alive. The Wonders' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 4-0 shutout on Thursday.

Mary Katherine Black was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kennedy Yow, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madyson Baker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Lake Norman hadn't done well against Mooresville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 6-3. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Blue Devils on their field since March 29, 2022.
Charlee Kelly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Vivian Billard was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Kail Panaccione also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
The victory got Lake Norman back to even at 7-7. As for A.L. Brown, their record now sits at 7-3-1.
A.L. Brown came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Norman in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wonders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
