Basketball Recap: Sedan Takes a Loss

Sedan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Caldwell Bluejays. The Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bluejays apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Among those leading the charge was Ella Risley, who posted 14 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Rowley, who earned seven points and three steals.

Sedan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-1. As for Caldwell, they moved to 2-10 with that victory, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

Sedan will look to defend their home court on January 31st against Dexter at 6:00 p.m. As for Caldwell, they are taking a road trip to challenge South Haven at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. The timing is sure in South Haven's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Caldwell has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
