Baseball Recap: Alief Elsik Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Alief Elsik had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out the Alief Hastings Bears 7-5. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Joseph Benevidez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, Bryan Lea was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Danny Zelaya was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Alief Elsik always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Alief Elsik's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Alief Hastings, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-11.
