Softball Game Preview: Lompoc Braves vs. Garces Memorial Rams

The Lompoc Braves will challenge the Garces Memorial Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lompoc will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Lompoc is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Frontier get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. Five seems to be a good number for the Braves as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Not much got past Alex Brooks, who gave up just five hits to keep Frontier off the board. Brooks has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Teagan Thompson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Day, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Garces Memorial's offense. They came up short against Bakersfield Christian last Friday, falling 11-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rams have suffered since May 2, 2024.

Garces Memorial's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Lompoc, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.
