Barrow faced North Pole in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Whalers had just enough and edged out the Patriots 1-0. The Whalers were shut out 1-0 the last time they took on the Patriots, so the Whalers were just returning the favor.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Barrow who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-20.

Barrow's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for North Pole, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5-1.

Barrow wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 1-0 win against Delta on the 5th. After both having extra time off, North Pole and West Valley will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Patriots their first taste of in-conference action this season.
