Volleyball Recap: Avon Orioles vs. Barr-Reeve Vikings        
        
		
             Avon waltzed into their matchup  on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They skirted past the Barr-Reeve Vikings  2-1. This was payback for the Orioles, who suffered  a  2-0  loss the last time these two teams met.
 Avon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-22,  15-8.
 Avon found their leader in underclassman  Stella Hamood, who  had 16  digs.
 Barr-Reeve lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Kennedy Huff, who  had 16  digs and two  aces. The team also got some help courtesy of  Hallie Knepp, who  had five  digs and 15  assists.
 Avon is  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last 11 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record  this season. As for Barr-Reeve,  the  defeat snapped their winning streak at five games  and leaves them with a 18-5 record.
 Avon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  3-0  victory vs. Ben Davis on the 24th. Barr-Reeve has also already played their next contest,  a  3-1  win against Washington on the 23rd.
