Basketball Game Preview: North Salinas Vikings vs. King City Mustangs

The North Salinas Vikings will take on the King City Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

North Salinas came up into this matchup off a tough 25-point defeat on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Pacific Collegiate by a score of 44-42 on Monday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, King City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They took a blow against St. Francis, falling 71-33. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1335th, while the Sharks are ranked 638th).

North Salinas' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11. As for King City, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

North Salinas strolled past King City in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 47-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Salinas since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
