Basketball Game Preview: Dugway Mustangs vs. Utah Military Academy - Hill Field Thunderbirds

The Dugway Mustangs will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Utah Military Academy - Hill Field Thunderbirds at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Dugway is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Pinnacle on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs were outmatched by the Panthers and fell 81-20. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-11.

Despite the loss, Dugway saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gary Williams Jr posted 16 points.

Meanwhile, after only 17 points in their last contest, Utah Military Academy - Hill Field made sure to put some points up on the board against Utah School for the Deaf & Blind last Thursday. The Thunderbirds strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 55-37. The Thunderbirds haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Dugway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Utah Military Academy - Hill Field, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Dugway was taken down by Utah Military Academy - Hill Field 75-27 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Mustangs were down 40-15.
