Basketball Recap: Johnson City Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

If Corning-Painted Post wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Johnson City, they should've done a better job of containing Emma Phelan. The Johnson City Wildcats walked away with a 57-44 win over the Corning-Painted Post Hawks on Friday thanks in part to Phelan, who went 8 for 12 from beyond the arc on her way to 33 points. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 17.1 points per game.

Johnson City is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Corning-Painted Post, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
