Ada proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 36) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Sallisaw Black Diamonds 21-20. The win almost wasn't to be: the Cougars were down 20-0 in the second quarter.

Sallisaw's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Harris, who rushed for 101 yards and one score, and Kase Adams, who rushed for 97 yards on only 12 carries.

Ada's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Sallisaw, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Ada will be playing at home against Fort Gibson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests. As for Sallisaw, they will venture away from home to face off against Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ridgerunners will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Black Diamonds surely won't give up without a fight.
