Pioneer Charter School of Science II waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Northeast Metro RVT Knights. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2022.

Pioneer Charter School of Science II had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Sabine Desir and Maria-Eduarda Silva, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Yurie Lee and her 26 assists. Silva was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Pioneer Charter School of Science II's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Northeast Metro RVT, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.
